Himalayan Eco Lodge & Camp – Jayalgarh, Srinagar

Himalayan Eco Lodge & Camp – Jayalgarh, Srinagar

Himalayan Eco Lodge & Camps – Jayalgarh, Srinagar
Perfect Camping getaway. Just 80 Km from Rishikesh.

I am writing this to share a experience of travelling from New Tehri to Jayalgarh, Srinagar (Uttarakhand). When we woke up, we had a lovely morning tea and took bath , got ready for breakfast. After a delicious breakfast we got ready to head for Jayalgarh, Srinagar. Even though one can not resists to try different cuisines however experienced hill travelled people say when you have to travel in hills one should eat less. Nevertheless, We started at around 1045 Hrs from New tehri to Jayalgarh. Once we reached to the new tehri town the weather started getting warmer however as we go closed to the tehri dam and once we took the road from inside the dam for srinagar it was one of the amazing experiences to have driven along the Dam. One could feel that one can touch the water by sitting inside the SUV. The distance from new Tehri to Jayalgarh is Approx 90-95 Kms. The route to jayalgarh was smooth. While the route has many places where one can get small shops however one can also witness the farming done and the flora and fauna which is amazing in some places. There is no unwanted construction, the polution is to its minimal and air is healthy , fresh and you feel glad to be away from the hustle and bustle of usual city life.

Once we reached the camp, we went inside and sat in the restaurant with a welcome drink. Upon finishing the welcome drink it was time to explore the camp. I must say the first think which came from my mouth was “WOW” as the campsite is situated on the bank of Alaknanda River. Its 20 feet above the River. There is a beautiful lawn area. The camp has spacious deluxe tent with good furniture used. The tents have attached toilets with running hot and cold water. They have solar panels for heating the water. The restaurant in itself is situated on great location. There is a great view of alaknanda river flowing which one can view sitting in the restaurant extension and watch the river flowing for hours.

The camp has 20 Spacious Deluxe tents with attached toilets. It has running hot and cold water facilities.
There are two stretch of rafting session which happen here. One starts from Srinagar and ends right in front of the camp and second starts in front of the camp and ends in devprayag. the rapid grade is II – III. The other activities of adventure which can be enjoyed are bridge slithering, Rock Climbing, Rappeling, Jumaring, cliff jumping, Valley Crossing, Trekking, Village visit, Cycle Tour.

The Camp definetly has some edge on it competition Shivpuri or Kaudiyala belt. For example this camp is operation 12 month unlike the other in shivpuri OR Kaudiyala operate only for 06-7 months. The amenities of running hot and cold water and attach toilet is not with them. The Gol Ghar of the camp based in shivpuri and kaudiyala get very warm during the day whereas at jayalgarh we have fans in the restautant Therefore for corporate groups conference along with the adventure can be a great combination as conferencing is a remote possibility in shivpuri and kaudiyala camps.

This place is meant for Families wanting spend few days in the nature, for adventure seekers, For outdoor Training programs etc. a Very thought in the mind of standing with a cup of tea on the bank of a river with a team or friends and discussing on some topic. This certainly can’t get better than this. So why to wait, Connect with us and let us work out a package for you for the same.

After the visit, it was time for us to enjoy the lunch. a very balance lunch . Had a arhar Daal, Chapatti, Salad and palak aalo ka saag. While starting back from the camp i had requested for a lemonade made of “PAHADI LEMON” which i enjoyed with little sip till i reached dehradun. The route from Jayalgarh was to rishikesh and once we reached rishikesh we turned for Dehradun to catch the train at 0900 Hrs.

Must say a very enjoyable and refreshing experience. For all of them who are interested in such a location can get in touch with us on 9910044472 OR can drop us a mail on sales@tiarrahotels.com

Virat Khai - Chakrata : Perfect Himalayan Getaway with Tiarra Hotels & Resorts

Virat Khai - Chakrata : Funfilled Himalayan Destination

Our Himalayan Eco Lodge is nestled in a valley with a spectacular view of the Doon Valley with views stretching as far as Dehradun and Mussoorie. This lodge is located at an altitude of 1850 m (6100 ft) and this ensures a cool and comfortable climate all year round. The lodge is located in Uttarakhand state and is easily approachable from Delhi (8 hrs drive) or is just a short 2 hr drive from Dehradun or a 3 hrs drive from Saharanpur. With minimum inhabitation all around this is a quiet getaway for anyone looking to remove themselves from the hustle and bustle of urban life. There are a number of short walks available all around and one gets a spectacular view of the snow clad Himalayan peaks from just a 5 min walk from the lodge. A short drive of 25 kms from the lodge gets you to Chakrata town which has been an army cantonment from the British times. Surrounded by thick forest, this town is an ideal place to spend time exploring the interesting market (especially for handmade woolen clothing) and other small items that are usually handcrafted by the Jaunsar-Bawar tribes that inhabit this area. From Chakrata one can go on a downhill walk (2 hrs) to the Tiger Falls (the biggest waterfall in this area) and spend a couple of hours here in the pool that is formed below the Falls. For those averse to walking to the Falls, you could drive ahead from Chakrata to a point closer to the Falls to enjoy the natural beauty here. For those looking for more adrenalin pumping activities, there is the rafting on the Yamuna that is a 45-min drive from the lodge. The Yamuna in its upper reaches here is a crystal clear green river unlike its sooty black avatar once it flows into the plains. You can enjoy a wild ride on this river through its numerous Class II and III+ rapids and couple this with other exciting water activities like bridge slithering and river crossing. Closer to the lodge, one can enjoy numerous hikes and rock sports to keep yourselves occupied during the day. As the night sets in, settle yourselves close to a bonfire under a star spangled sky (a rare sight in our cities!!) with the lights of the Doon valley in the distance. The mood is sure to evoke the musical sensibilities even in the most "ungifted" guests and there are songs galore that are sung through the night followed by a piping hot dinner spread that awaits you. Those who prefer a more quiet evening can also soak in the mood at any of the nooks and corners in the lodge that have been created for hours of lazing around.
